It is mandatory to register with the Southern African Institute for Occupational Hygiene, a recognized professional body, as an occupational hygiene assistant or occupational hygiene technician. Five (5) years of experience, including three (3) years of functional experience in occupational health and hygiene services and two (2) years at the middle management level. Knowledge: Public Service Act and Regulations, OHS Act and Regulations, OHSAS, COIDA UIA UI Contribution Act, Batho Pele Principles, and departmental policies and procedures. Facilitation, organizing and planning, computer literacy, problem-solving, interviewing, listening and observing, presenting, being creative, analytical, conducting research, and project management are among the skills. DUTIES: Contribute to the creation of health and hygiene policies and oversee the Department of Employment and Labor’s OHS strategy’s implementation in accordance with the OHS Act, Rules, and Standards. Regularly carry out thorough health and hygiene inspections in accordance with the OHS program. Perform technical research on the most recent developments in occupational safety and health from a hygiene and health perspective.
