REGIONAL COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR: LIASON REF NO: 3/1/5/1-25/19

SALARY: R468 459 (Level 09) annually CENTER: Overberg ESSENTIALS: Candidates must hold a valid National Diploma (NQF 6) or Bachelor of Science (NQF 7) in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or Public Relations with a major in Journalism, Media, or Communication as recognized by SAQA. Three (3) years of experience in a communications-related field, with one (1) year at a wage level seven (7) or eight (8), and familiarity with communication disciplines such as stakeholder engagement, media liaison, and research and development communication. The candidate must be familiar with Western Cape province, particularly the Overberg district and its local municipalities, and have an awareness of development communication practices.DUTIES: The chosen applicant will assist the Deputy Director: Liaison in carrying out the following government communication program (GCP) in the Overberg District: Distribute government information and carry out important communication initiatives in accordance with government priorities and the GCIS-developed criteria for development communication platforms and practices. Oversee and keep an eye on the administrative and operational responsibilities of any district-based Senior Communication Officers (if any), as well as any communication interns or learners assigned to the area.
