CHIEF DIRECTOR: REGULATORY POLICY AND LEGISLATION REF NO:RB-038

SALARY: R1 436 022 annually (Level 14), with benefits package CENTER: Pretoria ESSENTIALS: a SAQA-recognized NQF level 7 degree in political science, economics, law, or a similar discipline. a minimum of five years of senior management experience in a field related to politics, economics, or law. DUTIES: Oversee the identification, creation, and evaluation of laws and regulations. Oversee policy development initiatives and conduct regulatory effect analyses. Lead the charge on a number of legislation, such as those pertaining to corporations, consumers, alcohol, lotteries, and intellectual property. Create a strategy plan for implementing the policy and manage stakeholder relations. Give regulatory bodies policy guidance and evaluate the efficacy of legislation. Oversee and offer advice on issues pertaining to legislation, regulatory policy, and litigation. Organize policy contributions and speak on behalf of the department in forums both domestically and abroad. Organize public hearings and consultations, draft position papers, and oversee parliamentary answers. Lead and assist with policy for a variety of statutory committees, including the Specialist Committee on Company Law. Oversee the drafting of legislation, conduct consultations, and assist in approvals. Oversee the Chief Directorate’s strategic, personnel, and financial resources.
