Grade 1 salary: R205 733 annually Grade 2: annually R239 658 CENTER: George Laboratory’s Forensic Pathology Service ESSENTIALS: Minimum level of education required: Senior Certificate with passing grades in biology, life science, and/or mathematics. Experience: Grade 1: Not at all. Grade 2: suitable experience of ten years. Essential criteria for the position: valid driver’s license with Code B/EB. Possession of the ability to handle and raise dead bodies, including mutilated, deteriorated, infected, and obese ones. Be prepared to put in extra hours and travel great distances for standby job. must provide expert testimony during court procedures. Capabilities (knowledge/skills): The capacity to comprehend and implement policies. Software and computer literacy. the capacity to receive photography instruction. the capacity to get instruction in 4X4 vehicle handling. a readiness to help out in an X-ray room. readiness to receive instruction in forensic dissection and investigation. Experience with forensic pathology services that is appropriate. the capacity to establish and preserve positive professional and interpersonal relationships with clients and employees. the capacity to function under duress. the capacity to write and speak in a clear, private manner. DUTIES: Processing, storing, and recovering the deceased in an effective and efficient manner. An efficient forensic autopsy procedure carried out in compliance with established norms and regulations. ideal management of specimens, reports, and photos both during and after the forensic mortuary procedure. An efficient and successful way to handle unknown bodies. An effective support service for the Manager concerning the Forensic Pathology Laboratory’s Corporate and Clinical Governance tasks.
