Pay: R183 279 annually CENTER: Sonstraal Hospital in Paarl is home to the West Coast TB Complex. ESSENTIALS: Grade 10 (or its equivalent) is the minimum educational requirement. Experience: Sufficient knowledge of responsibilities pertaining to workshops. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Sufficient background in painting, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and hospital equipment and infrastructure repairs and maintenance. Essential criteria for the position: A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB/C). physically capable of carrying out tasks, working in tight areas, and at heights. You must be willing to go and conduct outreach at ID Hospital in Malmesbury, as well as be ready to work overtime and execute standby tasks after hours, including on weekends and public holidays. DUTIES: Perform or plan preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, handle minor ad hoc maintenance and repair requests, and adhere to emergency maintenance procedures at the hospital and other healthcare facilities in the subdistrict. Perform routine facility inspections, follow the maintenance schedule for all facilities, and check the generator, oxygen, and other equipment every day. Attend site meetings, oversee contractors, and offer requirements for service provider work. Maintain a tidy and well-organized workshop, manage and control inventory, tools, and equipment effectively and efficiently, handle administrative tasks, and maintain great records. In charge of overseeing and managing the maintenance crew, they answer to the Artisan Assistant. Assist and encourage supervisors, managers, and coworkers.
